The increase of instances of termites gaining access to Buildings throughout Australia has increased considerably over the last few years, for many different reasons including building design and construction /defects and actions by home owners which may cause conditions conducive to termite attack. It is critical that prospective home owners make an informed choice when selecting their termite management system.

Kordon has been extensively tested by the CSIRO and has been evaluated to have durability and design life in excess of fifty (50) years. This represents the life expectancy of a building as deemed by Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB).

Bayer’s Kordon termite management system offers you a warranty program which will provide the ultimate protection.

Bayer Kordon Product Warranty

Kordon product warranties have been issued since February 2002 to all properties registered on the Bayer website by a Bayer accredited Kordon installer up to 19th April 2012.

The duration of these Warranties was for 10 years from the date of installation.

Your Warranty Documents would have been supplied to you by your building contractor, in which is outlined the warranty conditions which included: -

“The Owner of the Building during the Warranty Period ("Owner"), at the Owner's expense, arrange for thorough and regular inspection of the Building for the presence of Termites at intervals not exceeding 12 months by an accredited/licenced Timber Pest Inspector. Where the termite risk is high or the building type is susceptible to termite attack (e.g. north of the 26th parallel) more frequent inspections (3-6 months) should be undertaken. These inspection recommendations comply with those outlined in AS 3660 Termite Management Series and AS 4349.1-1995, Inspection of buildings.”

Kordon product warranties have been issued since 20th April 2012 to free standing properties registered on the Bayer website by a Bayer accredited Kordon installer.

  • Duration – life of home
  • Value - $250,000
  • What’s covered – damage due to product failure only; which means you are only covered if the termites actually ‘go through’ the product to gain access to your property
  • Requirement – annual inspections by a Bayer accredited timber pest inspector and registered on the Bayer Kordon website

Bayer Protection Warranty

  • Duration – life of home

  • What’s covered – damage due to product failure or any other means of entry

Existing Kordon Product Warranties

Property owners can continue to maintain their warranties (10 year period) registered on the Bayer Web site prior to 20th April 2012 by complying with the condition outlined on the Warranty Document.

It is important to note that this is a product warranty, which means you are only covered if the termites actually ‘go through’ the product to gain access to your property.

Expired Kordon Product Warranty

This process applies to properties covered by the ‘old’ 10 year Product Warranties that have expired (i.e. greater than 10 years since date of installation) AND, properties covered by the ‘New’ Kordon termite management system overdue for renewal.

*definition of an overdue warranty, ‘is the failure to have the annual inspection carried out by, or before, the due date as outlined in your warranty documentation’.

How Do I Reinstate My Coverage?

If you wish to reinstate your Warranty to continue Termite protection of your property you can take the following action: -

Contact All Pest QLD on 1800 133 444 who will discuss your options and arrange a Bayer accredited timber pest inspector to carry out a full termite inspection of your property.

If the inspector concludes there is a current termite infestation, evidence of previous infestation, or conditions which may be conducive to termite attack, remedial action as recommended by the inspector will have to be undertaken before the Bayer warranty extension is activated.

When the inspector gives your property ‘the all clear’ he will register the property details on the Bayer Kordon website to re-activate the warranty documentation. You will receive a copy of this Warranty.

Depending upon which option you chose (both listed previously and below) the inspector will advise the Bayer fee for reactivation which is additional to the inspection fee. This represents twelve (12) months coverage for the insured events and is renewable for the life of the home.

Reactivate Bayer Warranties

Either of these warranties issued since 20th April 2012 would have shown an expiry date which is 1 year from the date of installation and or the date the installation was registered on the Bayer Kordon website. You should have, or will be advised that the Warranty has expired and is due for renewal.

Your Bayer Accredited Timber Pest Inspector will carry out an inspection. When the inspector gives your property ‘the all clear’ and depending upon which option you chose, the Inspector will advise the Bayer fee for reactivation which is additional to the inspection fee.

What Our Clients Are Saying

  • This is a short note to let you know that my wife and I are very pleased with the recent work you did treating our white ant infestation. Discovery of white ants eating our Bathroom wall was certainly alarming but we became even more concerned when our enquiries to a number of other companies about treating the problem raised more questions than answers. From the outset we were very pleased with not only the thoughtfulness with which you went about your work but also your high degree of professionalism.
